Street Children Rescue Mission By Hamara Swabhiman Bharat

When society turns its back, compassion becomes a lifeline.

Shakti, a specially-abled child from the Mankhurd Child Welfare Committee (CWC), faced loss far too early. After the death of her father, her mother walked away, leaving her behind. At an age when a child needs care and protection, Shakti was left with uncertainty supported only by her 65-year-old grandmother, frail in age but unwavering in love.

Living on the streets meant daily struggles for safety, dignity, and survival. But compassion has a way of finding those who need it most.

Through the timely intervention of Hamara Swabhiman Bharat, and with the dedicated support of Bharati from Anugrah Jeevan Sanstha, Shakti’s life took a decisive turn. What began as a rescue soon became a journey of restoration. She was moved from the streets into a safe environment, where care replaced neglect and hope replaced fear.

Today, Shakti has access to safety, education, healthcare, and emotional support—rights every child deserves. Most importantly, she is treated with dignity. Not as a statistic or a case file, but as a child with dreams, potential, and a future worth protecting.

Shakti’s story is not an exception. Across our cities, countless street children remain invisible lost between broken systems and social indifference. What truly creates change is not sympathy, but timely action driven by empathy, responsibility, and sustained commitment.

This is not charity.
This is humanity in action—stepping in where systems fail and staying until lives are rebuilt.
